As part of our biochemical analysis of spermatogenesis we have been assaying enzyme activities in purified sperm preparations (isolated by the technique described by M. K. in WBG3(1):9-12, and detailed in a manuscript submitted to Devel. Biol.). The table below shows the enzymes tested so far. There was no activity for arginine kinase and there was a sperm specific variant form of malate dehydrogenase. All the other enzyme activites have been detected in adult worms also. [See Figure 1]
