Almost 200 genes of 20 general phenotypes (e.g.  dpy, unc, etc.) 
have now been defined on the C.  elegans genetic map.  The data used 
to construct this map are currently being transcribed into a format 
that can be easily distributed and continually updated.  Some 
proposals regarding genetic nomenclature will be offered for 
discussion.
