Proteome, Inc. is a rapidly growing information-based company focused on 
building integrated proteome databases for sequenced model organisms and 
related pathogens.  Proteome supplies databases to pharmaceutical and 
biotechnology companies where they are used to support pathogen research, 
comparative genomics, and functional genomic studies.  Academic users have 
free access on the Web to our model organism databases, including the Yeast 
Proteome Database (YPD, see http://www.proteome.com/YPDhome.html).

Proteome is seeking curators and editors to gather and integrate C. elegans 
protein information for a multispecies proteome database to include yeast, 
other fungi, and C. elegans.  This database is targeted to industry and to
biological researchers in all communities who need protein functional 
information from model organisms.  Like YPD, it will be freely accessible by 
academic researchers.  Positions are open for multiple PhD-level scientists 
with C. elegans research experience.  

C. elegans curators
Ph.D. and C. elegans laboratory experience required.  May work part-time or 
full-time from a remote site via Internet, or full-time at Proteome, Inc. 
in Beverly, MA.  Must have good literature skills and a strong interest in 
understanding and organizing biological information.  Opportunities exist 
for advancement to other positions of responsibility within Proteome, Inc.

C. elegans editors
Ph.D. and C. elegans laboratory experience required.  Duties include 
integration of literature curation with sequence data, integration of 
functional genomic data, and management of special projects. Editors are 
expected to attend meetings and to keep abreast of major developments in 
the field.  Must have good computer skills and a strong interest in 
participating in the integration of biological knowledge from multiple species.
