NemaPharm, an industry leader in the use of Caenorhabditis elegans for
human drug discovery, is continuing to hire scientists and associates
over the course of the next twelve months.  NemaPharm is currently a
group of 26 highly dedicated researchers working to unlock disease
pathways, identify new therapeutic targets and discover drug candidates.
NemaPharm is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Axys Pharmaceuticals, a
!gene-to-drug! discovery company formed in January of 1998 from the
merger of Sequana Therapeutics (human genetics and genomics expertise)
and Arris Pharmaceutical (combinatorial and medicinal chemistry
expertise).  Beginning in 1998, NemaPharm will be moving its entire
operations from Cambridge, MA to newly built-out laboratories on the
Axys campus in South San Francisco.  New hires will be employed at the
California location although limited travel between sites may be
required through the Fall of 1998.


  Throughout 1998, NemaPharm/Axys is seeking research scientists to join
our research teams.  All levels from BS through PhD are encouraged to 
    apply. 
    Experience with C. elegans  or a solid genetics background and the 
              desire to use model organisms is necessary.
