Two Postdoctoral Positions

Howard Baylis, David Sattelle

The Babraham Institute Laboratory of Molecular Signalling, Cambridge

Cell Signalling

A 5-year postdoctoral position is available to work on cell signalling
in C. elegans. The project will investigate the modulation of inositol
1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors and the interactions of inositol
1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors with other cell signalling components.
The yeast two-hybrid system together with genetic, transgenic and
molecular approaches in C. elegans will be employed. The position is
available immediately. The laboratory is located in the Department of
Zoology at the University of Cambridge. Experience of either molecular
biology or C. elegans techniques would be an advantage. Informal
enquiries and details of the formal application procedure can be
obtained from:

Molecular Neurobiology

A 3-year postdoctoral position is available to investigate the
molecular basis of functional diversity in the extensive nicotinic
acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) gene family of C. elegans. The project
will employ genetic, transgenic, molecular and GFP expression studies
and will involve collaboration with electrophysiologists. Ref. J.
Neurosci. (1997) 17:5843-5857. The post is available from 1st February
1998. The laboratory is located in the Department of Zoology at the
University of Cambridge. The post would suit an experienced molecular
biologist; specific expertise with C. elegans would be useful.
