EXELIXIS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a rapidly growing, well-funded private genomics company focused on defining biochemical pathways involved in chronic human diseases. Exelixis uses model organisms to bridge the gap between gene sequence and drug screening targets in multiple disease areas. We have several positions open: Scientists PhD and/or MD. All levels are encouraged to apply. Genetics Join a group utilizing model organisms to dissect disease pathways. Extensive experience desired with genetic and molecular techniques used for the analysis of genes and pathways in C. elegans. Molecular Biology/Gene Discovery Join a group focusing on gene discovery, isolation and analysis. The successful candidates will possess expertise in cDNA and genomic library construction and screening, PCR techniques, positional cloning of genes, and mutation detection techniques. Research Associates BA, BS and/or MS. All levels are encouraged to apply. Genetics Experience desired in the genetic manipulation of C. elegans. Experience with basic molecular biology techniques, microinjection or immunohistochemistry a plus. Molecular Biology Expertise in DNA library construction and screening, PCR methods, and general recombinant DNA methods desired.
