Almost all worm people (30-46) in Japan were assembled in Sendai on 29th of November, 1989 by the management of Ryuji Hosono, Kanazawa University and Ken'ichi Kodaira, Fukui Medical School. Yo Tabuse, NEC and Hiro Kagawa talked on the works of TPA gene and unc-15 genes, respectively. At that time, pictures taken at Cold Spring Harbor were presented for the young students and newcomers to the worm field. Also included were, the pictures of Nicol Thomson who retired last September; for the memory of his beautiful electron microscopy. And to Mark Edgley, who is the man of worm breeders, many thanks for his nice and quick processing of our requests. Next year's meeting will be held as part of the Meeting of Japan Molecular Biology Society at the Kyoto Kokusai Kaikan (Kyoto International Congress House) from the 26-29th of November, 1990. Fortunately, John Sulston will be invited as the main lecturer of the Meeting. We will plan to have a mini-symposium on 'Molecular Biology of C. elegans'.Anyone from abroad will also be welcomed.
